Yarrow is highly astringent, which has led to its topical use in many skincare products as it tightens pores and reduces scarring. When smoked, it burns evenly and quickly, and is one of the few smoking herbs which is a stimulant rather than a depressant. This makes it a great early day or mid-afternoon smoke and the go-to choice for tobacco substitution.

Base Herbs A well-rounded smoking blend will be at least 50% base herb to facilitate an even and continued burn. Base herbs will have an astringent quality to them, which causes them to light quickly and hold a hot ember long enough to smoke off the herbs that are next to it, even if those don’t light.
