Damiana Leaf - Base & Effect Herb

Damiana has traditionally been used as a heart opener, mood lifter, nerve calmer, and for anxiety relief. Damiana leaves are also revered as an aphrodisiac. It is commonly brewed as a tea used for stress relief and constipation. It pairs well with more pungent herbs and can help to balance a smoking blend’s taste profile. Damiana is similar to cannabis in flavor and aroma, making it an excellent choice for spliffs in place of tobacco, or for those looking to cut down their cannabis consumption.

Base Herbs A well-rounded smoking blend will be at least 50% base herb to facilitate an even and continued burn. Base herbs will have an astringent quality to them, which causes them to light quickly and hold a hot ember long enough to smoke off the herbs that are next to it, even if those don’t light. Tobacco and cannabis are examples of excellent base herbs.

Effect Herbs These herbs are smoked for the way they make someone feel or the effect they may otherwise have on them. Effects are anecdotal, or of historical note, not a promise or a cure. Effect herbs can generally be smoked on their own if desired, but we recommend mixing them into a base herb, as the smoke may not be pleasant or hold an ember.
